February 4ths (Same Way Once)

I like this line: “You can’t do something the same way once you discover a new way exists!”
[2/4/2025: The old songwriting trick (whose technical term escapes me) where the last word in a phrase pivots to the next one on a single word, in this case "once"]

What’s interesting as a metaphor for life in general is that as you move through, you’re forgetting about things you’ve done before, or thought about doing and never did, then you stumble on it later and you realize that it was a good idea. But because of the flow of life you can never really see the same river twice. If your ideas were lighted lanterns floating by, sometimes you realize you’ve seen that one before. They are friendly reminders or omens good and bad. Yes, you’ve seen it twice, or several times. How do you react? Do you wait thinking it will come back around?
