Studio with Pat Gardner, "Untouched Hands"
[2/1/2025: Just on a nostalgic lark, I dug up an old lead sheet of this from exactly 30 years ago, then generated a version with AI. The AI version sounds more polished, but the "writing" is too French chanson and the "singer" has terrible phrasing. I like my version, but it also sounds terrible as plain MIDI audio. But it's interesting to sometimes look under the hood to see if there really is a song that could be reduced to sheet music and performed accordingly].

Facebook launches IPO. It remains to be seen how it will change the ethos, but one thing is certain, it will spawn other sites that will rail against its corporatocracy. Already I am thinking about dumping my account.
[2/1/2025: The Fediverse seems to be the solution but I'm wary of that as well. It is where Facebook was in 2007. In 10 years we'll be saying " I remember the early days...".]
New word: “idiosyncretic”: (New ways of looking at the world following an inflection point, and you have to adapt after that strange event).)

Rings of Saturn: Heading West/Town Beneath the Sea, Dunwich (VII:159) Apparently, Eccles Church Tower is in Norfolk, not at Dunwich Beach. (pp. 156- 7) Also idea for a track for the final chapter 'Mourning Silk/Black Mantua'. There were two somewhat disparate ideas that I cross-faded: The first is a solo piano piece, then a more moody groove-based piece. The general framework of the album is coming along. Ideally, there will be two sides, each with one 'itinerary' through the chapters.

Finally warm enough after the polar vortex 26-below to take a walk.
Lakefront, Navy Pier. Lake frozen over.
