Book: The Rebirth of Nature - Rupert Sheldrake. His theory of morphic fields seems to be an amplification of Jung’s collective unconscious, where there is some type of “memory” separate from brain memory. His theories about “creativity and habit” also amplifies mimetic theories.
[10/21/2024: I think Sheldrake is hugely relevant in today’s world where the collective unconscious is now fully suffused in the internet, when it wasn’t in 1997. There was dial-up then, but it wasn’t until around 2000 that more people had an “always-on” connection, either on an ISDN line, or cable. If that technological evolution hadn’t happened the world wouldn’t be where it is now. I like Carolyn Myss’ term “innernet” where the connection between individual thoughts and emotions and the internet are made].

People still remember the song sequences on the albums. The more choice you have, the fewer things are fixed. I think it’s better if something is fixed because it’s one less decision you have to make.
[10/21/2024: This is why I now do video albums. Human In The Loop is the latest. It can be played like a record sequentially, but you can move the “tone arm” around].
Possible new medium emerging: satellite radio with internet radio. (A paradigm shift, a la FM radio—how will it affect the creation of music?)
[Little did we know where this would all go!]
Idea for photo installation: Title: “From Hunger To Satiety”.
