My interest in video is to explore the juxtaposition of words and images or sounds and images to formulate results that require the participation and individual interpretation of the viewer. My interest in painting is to explore the infinite variations of form and space relationships to produce objects and images that require the participation and individual interpretation of the viewer.
Almost 20 years later, the artifice of TV/Video became reality with the world watching the Simpson trial, in a kind of juxtaposition of reality and TV soap opera about a real crime, then the televised Clinton impeachment proceedings in 1999.
[2/11/2025: We can probably trace this back to the rise of abstraction in painting in the early 20th century with Kasimir Malevich and other artists who created a paradigm shift away from representational art. The first line of Haring’s diary entry could have been made by David Lynch, an artist who fully explored the territory where painting and film overlap].

Was reading about a new tribe of people in 2028 that just left their Surreality Masks at home under great threat of being seen not wearing them, sort of like indecent exposure.
L5 Society meeting.
Funny: "Of course, the rise of these technologies also had its downsides. As autonomous vehicles became more prevalent, we continued to see accidents and injuries, despite the promises of improved safety. [1] And the government, led by President Chelsea Clinton, seemed to turn a blind eye to these issues, prioritizing the interests of the auto industry over the well-being of citizens."
