Mars rover lands successfully, first pictures beamed back. At first, you think they look boring—a shot of the sun from Mars, then you realize the significance. It’s like a baby’s first step, a rite of passage. But how many Americans will care: they’re just pictures of rocks...

Did an Illuminated Riff: IS there life on Mars? This would be a good comedy series...a chance to rail against AI and the whole quixotic idea of living on Mars. For example, photo exhibitions of photographers on Mars with everyone taking pictures of the same old rocks.
